Descriptive text is about how to tell, to draw the readers about the things by characteristic which in, with details size, type, the variety and anything else.
in descriptive text is divided into some parts with details :
- Identification: Bagian pada paragraf pertama – tujuannya adalah untuk mengidentifikasi sesuatu yang ingin dideskripsikan atau digambarkan. Penjelasan mudahnya, indentification berfungsi untuk memperkenalkan kepada pembaca tentang objek atau sesuatu yang akan kita gambarkan atau tampilan luar yg umum sebelum kita beritahu tentang sifat-sifatnya. Tujuannya agar jangan sampai pembaca salah orang. Kita mau menggambarkan mobil misalnya, tapi pembaca mengiranya motor.
Contoh: kamu diminta untuk menggambarkan mobil barumu, maka isi identification-nya adalah: My father buys me a new car. it is from Italy. - Description: Bagian pada paragraf kedua dan seterusnya – berisi tentang sifat-sifat yang melekat pada sesuatu yang sudah kamu kenalkan pada pembaca pada paragraf pertama.
Misal (melanjutkan tentang mobil di atas): My new car is limited edition produced by Ferrari. the color of my car is red, it has 4 systematic wheels. in the rear it uses big platinum tire. this car provides a pair of comfortable water sofas. when u ride this u feel like a cool superman because the velocity is highest technology of speed by using DOHC valve with 99 horses power. that"s all about my car. i love it.

descriptive text uses
- Simple Present Tense.
- a lot of sifat adjective, seperti handsome, beautiful, tall, small, big, atau jika kata sifat tersebut berasal dari kata kerja, maka kamu akan mendapati tambahan -ve, -ing, -nt di belakangnya,
Contoh:
Create (membuat) > creative (orang yang pintar membuat sesuatu).
Interest (menarik) > interesting (sesuatu yang menarik) - in descriptive text we will find relating verb (kata kerja penghubung) yaitu is (seperti pada ciri nomor 1). Is dalam bahasa Indonesia sering diartikan dengan “adalah”. Karena tujuan atau fungsi descriptive text adalah untuk menggambarkan, maka pasti kita akan sering menjumpai kata adalah (is). His name is Andy (namanya adalah Andy), his height is 160 cm (tingginya adalah 160 cm).

Giraffe is the tallest terrestrial living animal in the world. They also the biggest ruminant in the world. Its specific name (camelopardalis)refers to its camel-like face and the patches of color on its fur seems like a leopard's spots. Giraffes belong to herbivore animals, so they eat leaves. They are big mammals, but they're tame.
Giraffes have very long neck and legs. Their tall body help them to identify their enemies (especially lions) while their enemies are hiding around them. The attacks of carnivores are rarely happened because of their big body and strong kick. However, a crocodile still can be a threat for giraffes while they're drinking.
Giraffes are Africa's endemic animal. They usually live in savannas, grasslands, and other open areas in tropical zone. Their foods are leaves on trees. Their tall body help them eat leaves in high places that can't be gotten by other species. They also have long, flexible tongue to help them fetch leaves. While drinking, they open their legs to form inverted V. This method is used in order to help their mouth to reach the water.

They Have "Cat-Like" Pupils
They have good geographical memory, hearing, and sense of smell, but their sight is poor. However, they have cat-like pupils, so they can still see adequately to move around at night.
Giant Pandas Have Strong Teeth
Giant pandas start to grow permanent teeth as they gradually draw to 7 months old. Their back teeth are about seven times the size of a human's, with a wide surface area. The powerful jaw bones and strong teeth of giant pandas help them crush and grind bamboo.
Their Paws Have Six "Fingers"!
Giant pandas' paws have five "fingers" facing forward and one "thumb" — an enlarged bone at the heel of the paw used for gripping bamboo, climbing trees, etc.

What Do Pandas Eat? — 99% are Bamboo
Bamboo is the favorite food of giant pandas, which accounts for 99% of their diet. The bamboos consumed by giant pandas in their current habitats are classified into 40 kinds in 9 genera.
Wild giant pandas hunt small animals such as mice once in a while. To ensure ample nutrition, giant pandas in captivity are also fed fruits and well-selected feeds, which are made from corn, soybean, wheat, etc.
